Your Viewing Party Needs Game of Thrones Cocktails

The premiere episode of season 8 of Game of Thrones (GOT) has already aired and our first of many viewing parties have passed. With bellies full, we’re not done menu planning just yet. We’ll be celebrating each episode as if it were the last because the final season of GOT deserves this much attention — especially when you’re a die-hard fan like us.

Cocktail recipes complete the feast and are the perfect way to welcome guests to your viewing party. These tasty libations set the scene (queue GOT theme song), and are sure to get people in character for the evening.

The Breaker of Chains cocktail reinvents the classic Daiquiri using fresh Melissa’s Kiwano melons with white rum, lime juice, and simple syrup. If you’re feeling the mixology vibes coming out of your kitchen, consider serving the cocktail in the melon skin. After scooping out the pulp you’re already halfway there!

Breaker of Chains

Makes 2 cocktails

What You’ll Need:

  • 3 oz white rum
  • Pulp from 1 Melissa’s kiwano melon
  • 2 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup

Directions:

Cut the Kiwano melon in half, width-wise, and scoop out all of the pulp. Add the pulp, rum, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake hard. Pour into your preferred vessel and garnish with a melon wedge.

Appropriately named, The Mother of Dragons drink uses three different spirits to celebrate the three dragons in one glass. Cherimoya is the star of this libation, assuming it’s an ingredient that your guests may have never tried. Introducing this fruit in cocktail form is fun and probably will have them coming back for a second round before the first commercial.

  • 2 tbs fresh Melissa’s baby pineapple juice
  • Dash orange bitters

  3. Next, you’ll add the remaining rum with tequila, Melissa’s Organic Blue Agave Syrup, vermouth, pear puree, lemon, lime and pineapple juices, bitters, crème de cocoa, and ice. Shake vigorously for as long as you can. Then, strain into your favorite cocktail glasses and serve immediately.

If the other cocktail recipes are a little too daring for your guest’s palates, a margarita on the menu is a refreshing alternative. The Unburnt is a dragon fruit margarita that is guaranteed to be a crowd favorite and is Khaleesi-approved!
